Jonjić-520x347Professor Stipan Jonjić,full professor at Medical faculty University of Rijeka, becamse a member of European academy of microbiology (EAM). EAM was originally funded by FEMS (Federation of European microbiological societies) with the purpose of strengthening the role and status of microbiology and microbiologists in Europe. New members are chosen exclusively based on scientific merit and are selected through stringent peer-review process.

Professor Jonjić is one of the most cited Croatian scientists with over 100 published scientific papers, 6000 citations and was the first Croatian scientist ever awarded the prestigious  ERC Advanced grant. He is the coordinator of CerVirVac and a member of the oldest academy of sciences – German academy Leopoldina.
